There has to be more to life than sitting around doing as one is told all the time. Why isn't there more women in leadership positions? What is it about women that we choose not to push to get to the top? So, I started my research and found some very interesting reasons. We aren't stuck in the 1940s, but we aren't in the 2020s either. So I decided to write this book to show women, even in our everyday lives, that we do not need to sit ideally by and not do anything. We have bad habits that we have carried generation after generation and have not broken them. The time is now to make those changes.

Joni started not knowing what she wanted in life after high school—then decided to join the Army, where she held a five-year active duty career and a two-year reserve career. With one deployment under her belt to Iraq, she decided that she could use her knowledge outside the military and finished her schooling.
She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree from Arizona State’s Thunderbird in Leadership and Management. She continues to work for the Department of Veteran Affairs and owns two businesses. She enjoys being able to help veterans who have served our country.
She believes women are lovely beings and should focus more on themselves and work past their insecurities. We all deserve happiness, but how we get there and maintain it is vital.
